Sell Your Used Books | Books We Do NOT Buy

Books that do not have a pre-printed ISBN (International Standard Book Number) on the back cover or on the book's Copyright page (exceptions are made for vintage books and magazines only)
Best-selling novels by popular authors, such as Oprah's books and New York Times best-sellers (unless signed by the author — be sure to mention in book's description)
Date-sensitive books, such as annual travel guides (Fodor's, Frommer's, etc.) and computer software user manuals
Bibles, the Book of Mormon, and other religious reference books
Reader's Digest Condensed Books
Time-Life series books
Better Homes & Gardens special series books (We will buy their classic cookbooks published before 1980)
Textbooks published prior to 2003 and/or for which there are more recent editions of a particular book available in the market
Book club editions (usually smaller than original edition with no price on dust jacket)
Paperbacks, the small mass market paperbacks published after 1980 (we do, however, buy the larger trade softcovers provided they are on topics on our Wants List)
Advance reading copies (ARCs), uncorrected proofs, review copies, or books marked "not for resale"
Books written in any language other than English, or published for an International market
Books that must be paid for in international currency or shipped to us internationally
Sets of any kind, including encyclopedias (we do buy Franklin Mint and Easton Press books)
Dictionaries, Thesauruses of all kinds
Pornography, or other books that are explicitly sexual or violent, or that are considered by us to be unsuitable for a mainstream audience
Ex-library books
Calendars, Date books, Blank journals, Scrapbooks, Photo-insertion books
Magazines (except vintage pulps published prior to 1960)
Sheet music and books that primarily contain musical compositions
Self-published and vanity press books unless consigned to us (see our Consignment page.)
Books that are in poor condition, including books with missing pages, tears, repairs, a separating spine, odors, stains, or containing handwriting, underlining, or highlighting on more than 20% of the pages (marks may not obliterate text or graphics). Note: Workbooks or manuals may not have any writing in them whatsoever.
Books originally sold with a dust jacket, but the dust jacket is missing.
Books that originally a CD, DVD, or any other item, that is no longer present. Note: CDs and DVDs will be tested by us and must be in perfect working order.

If you are not sure whether we will be interested in your book, we recommend that you go ahead and submit its information to us. We will either respond with an offer or decline to purchase it.
